The Norfolk coast is only 20 minutes away and depending on your individual taste, the children can have pony rides along the touristy/fun fair beach of Hunstanton. Or, drive a mile further and enjoy a cup of tea by the life boat on a more traditional and quieter beach of Old Hunstanton. A boat named "the duck" which travels on land and water is well worth a trip to "see the seals" and has been operational since war time. Perhaps you fancy cockling along the mud flats of Heacham where you can walk the dog and relax with some fish and chips and ice cream!
The beaches of Holkham and Wells-Next-Sea are timeless and horse boxes at Holkham are charged £10 to park, enabling horse riders to have an experience of a life time, galloping across the sands, splashing through the bays, jumping the waves, regardless of the tide being in or out! Wells is famous for its harbour and children sit for hours with their crab nets whilst parents browse the quaint shops, later gathering for a meal on the boat named the "Albatross".
New for 2010 is the camping facility to holiday with your animals/horses and explore bridleways and foot paths around the farm, or the river bank and fen.
